kolejna porcja klimatycznych zdjec z zachodnich fjordow. przesuwamy sie do ich poludniowo zachodniej czesci, coraz blizej punktu kulminacyjnego -klifow latrabjarg :)
tutaj musze wspomniec o kampingu gdzie spalysmy poprzedniej nocy. miejscowosc talknafjordur liczy 300 mieszkancow. jest malutenka. ale tych 300 mieszkancow ma swoj porzadny osrodek sportowy (duzy, nowoczesny, basen z woda pochodzaca ze zrodel geotermalnych, nieopodal). kamping znajduje sie przy osrodku sportowym (popularne rozwiazanie na zachodnich fjordach, prysznice kampingowe znajduja sie w osrodku, najczesciej jest tez kuchnia/stolowka).
taka ciekawostka - bo islandczycy zdaje sie bardzo cenic I lubic sport, w wielu wiochach 'zabitych dechami' znajduja sie porzadne osrodki sportowe, boiska, zawsze baseny.
inna ciekawostka zwiazana z basenami/goracymi zrodlami: najczesciej przy nich znajduja sie chatka z prysznicem. otoz islandczycy surowo przestrzegaja zasady by przed wejsciem do basenu/goracego zrodka porzadnie umyc sie BEZ stroju. nie sa wstydliwi w ogole, my korzystajac z przybasenowego prysznica w talknafjordur mialysmy okazje zobaczyc to na wlasne oczy: kobiety I dzieci, w roznym wieku, roznym stanie cial (grube, chude, rozstepy, stare, mlode..) rozbieraly sie bez oporu do prysznica. aha, prysznice sa kilkuosobowe :)
smieszne wrazenie gdy wlasnie rozbiera sie przed toba na golasa kobitka ktora wczoraj zagadywala cie w pubie:)
no a z tym pubem to bylo tak - po okolo 13 godz jazdy tego dnia dotarlysmy do talknafjordur tuz przed 22.00 rozlozylysmy namiot I ruszylysmy do pobliskiego pubu, ktory znajduje sie przy osrodku sportowym. kiedy wchodzilismy kobitka akurat zamykala knajpe.. no ale w sumie bez wielkiego namawiania postanowila dla nas zostac dluzej (chyba wygladalysmy na wykonczone) I specjalnie dla nas ugotowala zupe rybna. palce lizac taka zupa! w kazdym razie skonczylysmy na dluzszej pogawedce (po zupie) I wyszlysmy stamtad dosc pozno. kobitka powiedziala nam rozniez o goracych zrodkach znajdujacych sie 3 km za wioska, kazala nam koniecznie tam jechac I wypoczac :) to byla nasza pierwsza kapiel z tubylcami :) woda wspaniala, widoki na gory :) noc, ale jasno. to moze sie zdarzyc tylko na islandii :)

I have to mention the campsite we stayed at - talknafjordur. 300 habitats. tiny. but those 300 people have a proper sports centre in the village - big, modern, pool with hot geothermal water from nearby spring). the campsite is situated at the sports centre (very popular solution in west fjords, campsites at sports centres, facilities at the sport centre, often kitchen/canteen).
interesting facts:
* Icelanders like sports. in many tiny villages we saw modern sports centres, football pitches, swimming pools
* often next to hot spring we could find small shelter with shower. Icelanders are strict about having a proper shower (naked!) before entering hot spring /swimming pool. they're not shy at all. we had a chance to experience it when used showers at the sports centre. women, kids in all ages and all bodies were stripping freely to have a shower before entering swimming pool. by the way - showers are 'open', for 5-6 people. funny feeling to see a naked lady in front of you, lady which cooked a soup for you just night before in the pub :)
regarding the pub :) previous day we drove for about 13hrs before arriving to talknafjordur just before 10pm. we pitched the tent and went to the pub, which we saw nearby the campsite. when we got there, the lady owner was just ready to close and go home. we must have looked knackered and hungry because she willingly stayed longer for us, and cooked the most beautiful fish soup I've ever had! yummy! anyway, we had a chat and left the pub quite late. the lady also insisted we should go and have a dip in the nearby hot spring (3 km further down the road) and rest a little. that was our first hot spring dip with locals :) hot water, mountain views... night, but still daylight... this could have happened only in Iceland...

do you remember how filthy was jimny (previous post)? here in patreksfjordur, at the petrol station they have free car wash :)
