naprawde fajne miejsce, w sumie jedyne gdzie zamiast turystow, na szkaku napotykalysmy tubylcow :)
wodospad glymur byl bardzo popularnym miejscem do czasu otwarcie tunelu na drodze nr 1. od tamtej pory nikomu nie chce sie objezdzac fjordu dookola (skoro mozna 'sciac' 40 km jadac tunelem..) wiec miejsce jest spokojne :)
sam wodospad glymur nie jest w sumie jakis najwspanialszy I piekniejszy (mimo ze podobno jest najwyzszy w islandii), ale jest milym zwienczeniem bardzo fajnego spaceru

really nice place to visit! actually first place where instead meeting tourists we met locals enjoying warm Saturday afternoon.
glymur waterfall used to be a very popular spot.. but since the tunnel on road no 1 was opened people abandoned it a little. before, the road was following fjord line, but tunnel shortened the travel distance by 40km, so people head straight south instead of driving and exploring this (now quiet) spot.
the waterfall itself isn't a 'wonder of the world', isn't breathtaking nor spectacular (though apparently the highest in Iceland). the walk to the waterfall is much better than the waterfall itself, actually the walk is awesome :)

here we go, the walk begins. behind me is the fjord (the one which was cut short by the tunnel)
zaczyna sie robic jeszcze fajniej - dochodzimy do skalek I potoku wijacego sie dnem waskiej dolinki
gets even better - we reach some rocks and stream, winding along narrow valley
szlak prowadzi nas przez mala jaskinie.... / the path goes thru a small cave...
.. a jaskinia konczy sie kilka metrow dalej, I nizej, tuz nieopodal strumienia
.. and the cave ends few metres further and lower, near the stream
pierwsza przeszkoda: pol szerokosci rzeczki trzeba przejsc po kamieniach, drugie pol po pniaku.. wszystko fajnie, gdyby nie to, ze zabezpieczajaca linka jest bardzo nisko wiec trudno sie zlapac, a poza tym, linka jest dosc dluga wiec buja sie na wszystkie strony.. coz, trzeba dac rade bez linki!
first obstacle: half width of this small river we had to cross via stepping stones. the second half via timber pole. all good, but the safety rope was tied very low and was really difficult to take advantage of it. also, the rope was tied 'from shore to shore', so it was long, swinging and swaying.. no use at all!
druga przeszkoda - strome zbocze, tu zabezpieczenia przydaly sie bardzo
second obstacle - very steep slope. here the rope was greatly appreciated

pierwsze widoki na wodospad, tak sobie go widac, wiec idziemy dalej. prawda jest taka ze wiele osob dochodzi tylko wlasnie to tego punktu - wiem dlaczego :)
first vierws to glymur. could see it just so-so therefore we continued up. many people reaches this point, take picture and walks back.. I know exactly why!
.. otoz zeby dojsc do lepszych widokow, trzeba pokonac bardzo strome wejscie klifkiem a potem bardzo stromo podejsc pod dosc gladka sciane skalna.. to bylo dosc trudne I nieco niebezpieczne. ja oczywiscie podjelam sie tego zadania, ale prawde mowiac jesli ktos nie jest z natury kamikadze to spokojnie mozna zadowolic sie widokiem z poprzedniego punktu widokowego
... well, to see the waterfall in its glory, it's necessary to walk very steeply down (on scree) and then very steeply up the (pretty much) smooth rock. this was difficult and little bit dangerous. of course I am a daredevil :) but if you don't have this in your blood you will be very much satisfied with views from previous view point
